- Population displacement
In Cameroon, violence in the Far North, the conflict in the North-West and South-West regions, and the influx of refugees at the eastern borders are fuelling a complex and protracted crisis. Floods, epidemics and economic pressures are exacerbating these difficulties. Around 2.9 million people, including 1.5 million children, will require humanitarian assistance in 2026.

- Cholera
Repeated displacement disrupts livelihoods and increases pressure on host communities. In the worst-affected areas, damage to homes, farmland, schools and health centres is limiting access to food, healthcare and education. The spread of cholera and the deterioration of water and sanitation conditions put children, women and those already in vulnerable situations at particular risk.
The response must simultaneously protect lives and strengthen the areas facing these crises. The continuity of essential services, the rehabilitation of local infrastructure and the restoration of economic activities must complement immediate assistance. An integrated approach will help to reduce vulnerabilities, support host communities and improve resilience to conflicts, epidemics and climate-related shocks.
